Kolobok — a character from the beloved folk tale of the same name, depicted as a small round wheat bread that rolled away from the grandparents who baked it, escaped a hare, a wolf, and a bear, but was finally eaten by a fox. The Kolobok tale is found in Russian and Ukrainian folklore, and has counterparts in many other cultures: the American Gingerbread Man, the English Johnny-Cake, as well as similar stories in Scandinavian, German, Uzbek, Tatar, and other traditions.
